Equinox said that it is interested in acquiring an “important” piece of the 15% stake in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena that is being sold by the Italian lender’s primary shareholder, according to Reuters.

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and Chesapeake Energy Corp. (NYSE: CHK) have formed a partnership to invest in mineral interests and overriding royalty interests in U.S. oil and gas basins. Each firm will commit and initial $250 million toward the partnership, with Chesapeake to source, acquire and manage the royalty investment opportunities.
