Here Are the 2016 Oscar Nominations

Nominations for the 88th Oscars were announced Thursday morning, with The Revenant capturing the most nominations.

Alejandro González Iñárritu’s frontier revenge tale received 12 nominations in all, including ones for director, actor Leonardo DiCaprio, and best picture.

The apocalyptic road warrior epic Mad Max: Fury Road, earned 10 nominations, including best picture and best director for George Miller. The Martian earned seven nominations in total (including for best actor Matt Damon, though not director Ridley Scott), Spotlight received six nods, and The Big Short was nominated for five Oscars.

The Revenant and Mad Max are joined on the best picture list by six other films: Spotlight, The Martian, Bridge of Spies, The Big Short, Room, and Brooklyn.

The awards will be handed out on Feb. 28 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, beginning at 7 p.m. ET on ABC. See below for the full list of nominees.
