The streaming service—which is a joint venture of Comcast, Walt Disney, and 21st Century Fox—announced this week that the Hulu VR app that launched earlier this year is now available for Oculus Rift. The announcement means that Hulu’s entire two-dimensional library of content will be available for Rift users in a VR format—that includes the entire series of Seinfeld as well as any number of current series—but Hulu also said its VR app includes more than 30 pieces of original VR content that is available for free whether users have a Hulu subscription or not.

Included in the app is a VR experience built around the Syfy channel series 12 Monkeys—for which Hulu has the exclusive streaming rights—including “real time rendered environments and animations” that are the product of Hulu’s collaboration with the show’s executive producer and production designer. Hulu also noted in its announcement that the streaming service recently partnered with Live Nation to build virtual reality experiences around concerts that will be available through the app.

Hulu’s VR app launched in March for the Samsung Gear VR, which is powered by Facebook-owned Oculus, but the streaming service said this week that Rift will allow for “a polished, sharper and highly responsive viewing experience.”

In other virtual reality news, Comcast Ventures—the media giant’s private venture capital arm—recently led a nearly $7 million funding round for VR firm Felix & Paul Studios, which makes cinematic content for virtual reality platforms. Felix & Paul has a multi-year agreement with Oculus to make VR content.
