An Apple a Day is a weekly roundup of the biggest Apple news this week. To see last week’s roundup, click here.

Now that the iPhone 7 is finally on store shelves, you’d think that Apple news would have quieted down. But this week was anything but quiet for the company.

Over the last several days, there have been a number of reports about Apple looking to double down on markets like healthcare and jumping into ones by acquiring a luxury automaker. Apple may even be interested in introducing an alternative to Amazon’s smart home hardware, the Echo.

In this week’s An Apple a Day, we’ll talk about the iPhone 7, of course, but we also highlight Apple’s possible interest in new markets. Read on to learn more:

Get Data Sheet, Fortune’s technology newsletter

  1. Apple is making boatloads of profits on the iPhone 7, according to an evaluation by research firm IHS Markit. The company said this week that Apple pays $224.80 to manufacture a 32GB iPhone 7. That cost is nearly $37 more its iPhone 6s predecessor, which cost $187.91 to produce. But don’t worry too much about Apple: The company sells the 32GB iPhone 7 for $649.
  2. It’s not easy to find an iPhone 7 in stock, but luckily there are tools to help users do so. One such tool, iStockNow, lists availability for the iPhone 7 in Apple Stores from any carrier, in any color, and in any size. The data is updated on a continuous basis, so consumers can regularly check the site to find out whether the nearest Apple Store has the phone that they are looking for.
  3. Apple may have explored buying luxury carmaker McLaren, according to a Financial Times report this week. Apple is said to have explored acquiring or at least investing in McLaren, which makes cars that cost as much as $1 million. The acquisition, which could top $1.9 billion, would give Apple a foothold in car engineering—a market it reportedly has an interest in as part of a broader, but unannounced Apple Car initiative. McLaren, however, told Fortune that it’s not currently holding talks with Apple about a possible deal.
  4. Dr. Mike Evans, a medical doctor from Toronto and star of the popular YouTube health series DocMikeEvans, has taken a new job at Apple. While he didn’t say exactly what he’ll be doing, he said that Apple hired him to focus on “worldwide health innovation” and “messaging.” He added that in the future, he’ll “prescribe you an app” instead of pills.
  5. Is Apple entering the smart home market? The company has reportedly created a smart home hardware alternative to Amazon’s Echo. The device, which has been in development for two years, would be capable of controlling home electronics, feature a music speaker, and include a microphone so that users could give voice commands to virtual personal assistant Siri. Apple hasn’t confirmed the device’s existence, but it comes at a time when the company is trying to expand its presence in the smart home market.
  6. In other non-iPhone news, the Apple Watch appears to be doing well in the smartwatch market. Apple Watch owned a third of the worldwide smartwatch market at the end of July, giving it a “dominant” position, according to research firm Kantar Worldpanel. It’s likely that the Apple Watch Series 2 that debuted last week with a more powerful processor and water resistance, will help Apple attract more customers, according to the firm.
  7. U.S. Wireless carriers were quick to offer free iPhone 7s to attract customers, but those deals are coming to an end. AT&T, for instance, said on Friday that its free-phone promotion would end on Sunday. Verizon and Sprint are expected to follow soon thereafter. So, if you’re interested in getting a free iPhone 7, move quickly.
  8. Apple is making serious investments in machine learning. Just a month after Apple acquired machine-learning company Turi, it bought up another firm in that market, Tuplejump, according to a report this week. Apple acquired the company for an undisclosed amount and quickly deleted its website. Tuplejump will likely be folded into Apple’s virtual personal assistant Siri, which relies on machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  9. Apple may want to play in Samsung’s backyard. The company has reportedly sent employees to scout a location for an Apple Store in South Korea, including across the street from Samsung’s headquarters in Seoul. Once a location is chosen, Apple likely wouldn’t open the store for at least another year.

One more thing…Apple’s new desktop operating system macOS Sierra premiered this week. If you’re interested in discovering what the software offers and how to start using it, Fortune has compiled this handy guide on getting started.
