Coffee consumption has been on the upswing in the U.S. and around the globe for years, and forecasts call for our java intake to keep on rising in the years ahead, particularly among young people.
So every day, it would seem, is Coffee Day. But according to the gods of made-up holidays, September 29 is officially recognized as National Coffee Day. The big day is this Thursday, and it’s a fine time for feeding your coffee habit on the cheap, thanks to the proliferation of special National Coffee Day freebies and discount promotions.

Stewart’s Shops: From noon until closing time, cups of coffee in any size and any flavor are free from this convenient store chain based in upstate New York.
Dunkin’ Donuts: For National Coffee Day, DD is offering medium cups of coffee for 66¢ each, to celebrate the company being in business for 66 years.
