An Apple a Day is a weekly roundup of the biggest Apple news this week. To see last week’s roundup, click here.

As another week draws to a close, it’s time again to reflect on the Apple universe. But for the first time in a few weeks, Apple has sat back and let everyone else do the talking.

Yet despite the company’s silence over the past seven days, Apple (AAPL) has featured prominently in the news. Five years after Steve Jobs’s death, the company’s co-founder was remembered this week. Meanwhile, Apple benefited from reports that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 might have exploded yet again—only this time, a replacement unit was the subject. And as another week comes to a close, iPhone 7 and iOS 10 adoption appears to be soaring.

Simply put, even if Apple did little, it was a good week for the company. Here’s why:

  1. It may be hard to believe, but it has been five years since Steve Jobs died. The Apple co-founder passed away on Oct. 5, 2011, but worked at the company until a day before he passed. Click here to see Fortune‘s Steve Jobs retrospective.
  2. Apple’s iPhone 7 has proven popular so far, according to new data from research firm Localytics. The company said the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have combined to capture 3.6% market share in Apple’s iPhone line. That makes the iPhone 7 more successful than the iPhone 6s during its first two weeks on store shelves last year. One other tidbit: 40% of iPhones and iPads are now running Apple’s latest mobile operating system iOS 10.
  3. The iPhone 7 could use a battery boost, according to product-testing firm Which. The company analyzed the iPhone 7’s battery during talk time and surfing the Internet, and found that it landed in last place, behind the Samsung Galaxy S7, the HTC 10, and other Android-based devices. Which says it’s likely due to the iPhone 7’s small battery cell.
  4. Apple eliminated the headphone jack in the iPhone 7, and might have even bigger plans for next year. Apple was awarded a patent this week on a technology that moves the company’s Touch ID fingerprint sensor from a mechanical button to a sensor baked into the iPhone’s display. It’s rumored that Apple is planning a new Touch ID button in the iPhone 8, and the patent could showcase how it’s going to work.
  5. Apple discontinued the third-generation Apple TV that it released in 2012 and upgraded in 2013. The fourth-generation Apple TV released last year is still available. Now rumors are swirling that Apple’s move is a prerequisite to unveiling a fifth-generation Apple TV later this month.
  6. The give-and-take between Apple and Samsung has reached a new phase, after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C. reinstated $120 million in damages that had been previously tossed out. The original verdict came down in May 2014 after Samsung was accused of infringing several Apple patents, including iOS features like slide-to-unlock and autocorrect, among others. Apple and Samsung are readying a U.S. Supreme Court fight on other patents.
  7. Get ready to see more ads. Apple’s App Store now supports ads, allowing third-party developers to get their programs discovered in what is becoming a growing mobile marketplace. Apple announced its move to ads in June. They’re displayed above search results in Apple’s App Store.

One more thing… Is another fight between Apple and the FBI brewing? The FBI said on Friday that it’s trying to unlock the smartphone used by Dahir Adan, the attacker who stabbed 10 people in a Minnesota mall last month. The FBI says it’s trying to unlock the iPhone but has so far not been able to. It’s reminiscent of the iPhone used by San Bernardino attacker Syed Farook, which Apple refused to unlock earlier this year, despite requests from the FBI and Justice Department.
