During the third and final presidential debate on Wednesday night, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump addressed some insults that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had tossed at him over the summer.

“Justice Ginsburg made some very inappropriate statements towards me,” Trump said in response to a question about future Supreme Court appointments at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. “She was forced to apologize, and apologize she did.”

Justice Ginsburg earlier this year called Trump “a faker” in an interview with CNN. “He is a faker,” she said. “He has no consistency about him. He says whatever comes into his head at the moment. He really has an ego.”

Ginsburg later retracted her comments. “Judges should avoid commenting on a candidate for public office,” she wrote in a statement. The Justice said her remarks were “ill advised,” and she expressed regret. “In the future I will be more circumspect,” she said.
