The grocery store’s hummus manufacturer, Bakkavor Foods USA, voluntarily recalled Trader Joe’s Mediterranean and White Bean & Basil hummus after finding traces of the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes on its equipment, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

This bacterium leads to Listerios, a severe infection known to cause fever, muscle aches, and gastrointestinal problems. Customers are advised not to eat any products with “Use By” dates up through and including Dec. 15, 2016, as well as the plant identification code “C.”

All of the potentially affected products have been removed from store shelves and destroyed, according to the FDA.

Trader Joe’s is aware of the possible contamination and is offering full refunds to customers who bring hummus include in the recall to any store location, according to an announcement listed on its website.

The FDA-specified hummus with the plant identification code “J” was manufactured in a different facility and is not included in the recall. Trader Joe’s Mediterranean Hummus Snack Pack with Pita Chips is also excluded from the recall.
