Our Experience With Ka’Chava

Kayla tested Ka’Chava’s plant-based, all-in-one nutrition shake. It can work as a meal replacement shake, or as a higher calorie/gainer protein drink. Ka’Chava combines plant proteins (pea protein, brown rice, and more), along with fiber, greens, superfoods, and probiotics. Mix up a scoop of Ka’Chava with your favorite milk or water, and you’re good to go!

What We Liked

Here’s what Kayla rated highly after trying Ka’Chava.

  • First impressions (5 out of 5): Kayla loved the new branding. “It’s colorful, playful, and looks inviting,” she said. Our tester also likes how the packaging is designed–the bag has a unique pull tab to open it, rather than a torn, ragged raw edge.
  • Instructions (5 out of 5):  “The instructions are easy to read, and very straightforward,” according to Kayla.
  • Mixability (5 out of 5): The product mixed well after 60 seconds. Kayla liked that the drink has what she described as a “thicker consistency, like a smoothie. The texture was slightly gritty in the glass but tasted smooth.”
  • Flavor (5 out of 5): Kayla said that the flavor is subtle and the texture is nice and creamy. The sweetness is just right, not super sweet or bitter.

What We Would Change

Here’s what Kayla would improve about Ka’Chava.

  • Price (1 out of 5): The price per serving is $4.66 as of this writing, which is a high cost for a shake.
  • Fullness/Satisfaction (3 out of 5): “I don’t know if I felt full enough after drinking Ka’Chava to use it as a meal replacement, but it could be a great way to start the day instead of breakfast,” said Kayla.

Who It’s For & Who It’s Not For

Ka’Chava may work well for some and not for others.

Ka’Chava is for:Ka’Chava is not for:
Folks who want a meal replacement shake they can make it under a minutePeople who prefer simple ingredient lists and want to avoid proprietary blends
Busy professionals who regularly skip meals and need something more substantial than a protein shakeAnyone who dislikes shakes, superfood flavors, or thick drink textures
People looking for a plant-based, dairy-free, and soy-free optionFolks with highly specific dietary needs
Folks who like sweeter, dessert like shakes and don’t mind a thicker, smoothie-type texturePeople who want standalone, clinically-dosed supplements
Those willing to pay a premium priceBudget-conscious folks

Pro Tip

The mixing directions are spot-on for creating a shake with the ideal texture, per Kayla. We recommend that you shake vigorously with two scoops of Ka’Chava and 12 ounces of water.
