Corporate and business tax advisory firm Ryan takes a people-first approach to building company culture. The company’s myRyan flexible work system, originally launched 16 years ago, allows employees to continue to work where they will be most efficient, and it has helped employees navigate the transition away from and back to the office through COVID.
In 2020, the company rolled out employee stock options for all employees, barring temporary workers and principals. Ryan gives pay transparency to build employee trust, and implemented multiple training sessions to educate employees and managers on payment systems after admitting its previous payment process was “a bit of a black box.”
Partnering with Project Destined, Ryan has a primarily online training program on commercial real estate for high school and college students in order to assist with costs, provide internship opportunities, and offer paths to employment. Ryan hired two Project Destined participants as full-time consultants.
