Apple may have created a new rock star in the tech world at its developer conference last month, when it featured Bozoma Saint John, head of consumer global marketing for its music service, in its keynote address.
One of the few female executives to ever take the stage at the annual conference, Saint John is now putting her newfound fame to good use. Using the Charitybuzz website, she is auctioning off a one-hour “power lunch” for two with her in Los Angeles. The top bid in the auction, which kicked off Thursday, was up to $2,000 within a day. Bidding closes on July 21.
Money raised in the auction will go to the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, which runs art programs for inner-city kids in New York City and exhibits the work of emerging artists at two local galleries.

In Saint John’s attention-grabbing speech at Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference in San Francisco, she tried to get the crowd bopping to the beat of the Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight.” But when few in the audience were moved to dance, she quipped: “No, we’re gonna pause this, because some of you guys are not rapping to the beat.”
The winning bidder will have to work around Saint John’s busy schedule—lunch is to be held at a mutually agreed upon date based on her availability. And “Boz,” as Saint John is known, won’t be picking up the tab. The winning bidder will be responsible for the cost of the meal, Charitybuzz says.
Apple (AAPL) CEO Tim Cook has similarly auctioned off a lunch for charity for the past four years. In May, he raised over $500,000 for the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, where he sits on the board of directors. The undisclosed winner got to spend an hour noshing with Cook at Apple headquarters.
