Grady McGregor writes features on business, tech, and all things related to China. Shortly after graduating with honors from Connecticut’s Wesleyan University, the Minnesota native (who partly grew up in Beijing) decamped for the oil-rich Bakken region of North Dakota, where he covered politics and other news for the Dickinson Press—before moving to Amman, Jordan, to learn Arabic and freelance for local outlets. Before he joined Fortune, Grady was an editor with Synaps, a research agency based in Beirut. He speaks Mandarin and conversational Arabic. He’s based in Hong Kong.
